Time Travel theory - in English

A theory about how time travel would be possible and how would it work

Most likely you have heard of the "grandfather paradox" :

If you travel back in time, to kill ur grandfather, ether always somethign happens that

wont let you or wold make it impossible to timetravel. When ya kill ur grandfather, u

would never be born and you couldn't have gone back in time to do that in the first

place.

What if Time exists and it is possible to travel within it to the past?

Lets say we have a timemachine that is capable to travel in time and i decide to go 10

years back, to give myself the results of a big lottery.

Time itself could be represented as a long line - a Timeline that gets longer and longer

as time passes by. If i sit in my machine and travel back, i will be separated from this

Timeline and actually create a new one:

------------------------------I-----------A

I-----------B

A is the one i was in and B is the new one and I marks the spot of departure and entry.

New timeline will continue to get longer. It is possible that after i leave this timeline, it

simply stops since there is absolutely nothing in it to create new events.

Timelines itself don't have to be parallel to each other, evolve at the same speed or

even contain same events. I can choose any point in any timeline to jump to.

However, starting from the moment i reenter the selected timeline A, i create a new

branch/line due to the mere presence alters this timeline (a disruption in air currents, a

mere sight of me etc etc):
----------------------IA2

----------------------I------------------A

The new branch is a alternative version of the time i entered, with new future events

starting from this point. Its like the timeline i created when exiting my origin location,

instead its filled with the event from the original Timeline up until the point i entered.

It would render the Grandfather paradox completely useless since i was born in a

different timeline - nether could anyone else disrupt that - they would just create a

alternative version as well.

Reconnecting with my origin Timeline would be impossible - any knowledge etc makes

me different so the point of reentry would create a new alternate version.

Also Timelines progress at a different speed making traveling to the future only half

possible - you cannot travel to something that haven't yet happened, only to a spot

that you perceive as a future - since you were in a slower timeline, you can enter

another one that progressed faster and move in to the "future", while in reality it would

simply be a already happened history in timeline.

Theory gives a sneak-peek of the fact that every decision, move, subatomic event

has infinite number of possible outcomes - i could or could have not wrote this blog,

write a different letter somewhere or different font etc. Each of those could trigger a

new possible timeline each being slightly different version.
